Stan Astakhov - guitar
Tesla Boy is an independent electro-pop band with Russian origins. It was founded in 2008 by composer, producer and songwriter Anton Sevidov. Their sound & style bridges the gap between synthpop, electro-clash, nu-disco and new wave. Besides Anton Sevidov, the band includes Leo Zatagin (bass guitar), Michael Studitsyn (drums), and Stan Astakhov (guitar).
The band’s music is inspired by western electronic music from 1980s — Sevidov himself collects synthesizers from different eras and uses them to compose Tesla Boy’s songs combining an analog sound with modern music writing techniques. All of Tesla Boy’s songs are written in English. The band’s first album “Modern Thrills” was released in 2010 by London-based label Mullet Records, which helped the band create a solid platform for work on the international market. Three years later, Anton Sevidov founded his own label Gorby Records which released the band’s second album, “The Universe Made of Darkness”. For the LP, the band collaborated with Tyson (UK) and Azari & III’s Fritz Helder (Canada).

The band happens to be one of the prime movers & shakers in the Russian electro/indie-pop landscape. In the eight years that Tesla Boy has been around, they have become one of the most successful music projects in Russia. Along with impacting their mother Russia, their global reach has touched Europe, the U.S., Mexico and South American countries. They have worked with the iconic French label, Kitsune and even Oscar Winning Actor & 30 Seconds To Mars singer, Jared Leto declared his affection for their music. Tesla Boy is a regular participant of music festivals, such as MysteryLand in New York (in 2015 Tesla Boy shared the stage with Empire Of The Sun and Bob Moses), and Montreal AIM Electronic Music Festival (again, Tesla Boy was performing along with Jamie XX, Caribou and Tiga).
